This project analyzed a randomized clinical trial from ClinicalTrials.gov to evaluate the effectiveness of memantine extended-release in treating moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease. Using publicly available clinical trial data, we examined participant demographics, geographic enrollment, and treatment outcomes through statistical analysis and data visualization. We also explored how study design, including participant selection and eligibility criteria, influences the interpretation and generalizability of clinical research findings. This project highlights the importance of evidence-based analysis in evaluating medical treatments and demonstrates how clinical trial data can be used to better understand disease management and research methodology.

This project evaluated a randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 3 clinical trial investigating the effects of high-dose liraglutide (3 mg) on weight loss, body composition, and hormonal and metabolic outcomes in non-diabetic women with obesity and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Our analysis found that liraglutide led to significantly greater weight loss, improved insulin sensitivity, and reduced androgen excess compared to placebo, highlighting its potential as an effective adjunct therapy for PCOS management. Through this review, we strengthened our ability to critically assess clinical trial design, interpret outcomes, and evaluate the quality and limitations of biomedical research.
